Calculating your requirements correctly before tiling is a vital step to avoid wasted materials and budget overruns.
Measure the space:
Use a tape measure to measure the length and width of the room and calculate the total area (length x width).
Determine tile size:
Find out the size of the tiles you have chosen and calculate the area of each tile.
Calculate requirements:
Divide the total area of the space by the area of the tiles to arrive at the quantity required. Taking into account wear and tear, it is usually recommended to add another 10-15 per cent to the allowance.
Calculating tile requirements correctly can effectively control renovation costs and avoid material wastage.
